This oderous powdered gum is burned to force someone to leave you alone.Can also be burned to help in hexing an enemy.

To protect the home from evil spirits, make a cloth bag which contains some Asafedita, Vlaerian, pepper, and garlic.  Sew it shut and nail it to your front porch ceiling or just above the entryway to your room.  Place a large mirror inside your entrance.   SHould any demons pass under the bag and see their own image, they will be distressed by this and flee from your home in fear of themselves.

Sometimes Asafedita is called the  "Incnese of the Devil".
